Bandon Vale Cheese Ltd is situated in the heart of the rich West Cork dairy region and was initially set up to revive the art of cheese making in the traditional style. Since then, Bandon Vale have expanded and diversified to become a major player supplying an unmatched range of quality cheeses to the retail, catering and food ingredients sectors.
About The Project
In 2017, Bandon Vale Cheese approached Docutec to gain advice on how best to manage their print environment. The existing set up was a legacy from their old production and office facility and was totally unsuited to their needs. It consisted of two stand-alone printer/copiers that had no scan facility and were very unreliable.
Additionally, as the offices are spread over two floors and several buildings, the machines were not convenient for most of the staff. This resulted in much time and resource waste in collecting prints and copies.
The production facility posed a different set of challenges. They had many different branded single function printers located around the factory and replenishment of toner was a nightmare.
Evening and weekend production was regularly interrupted and delayed due to technical or stock issues and costs had soared out of control.

THE SOLUTION
Docutec conducted a thorough print audit of the office environment and the production facility. We listened to the customer’s concerns and provided them with bespoke solutions for both areas. We installed 6 A3/A4 multifunction devices in the offices and corridors. All machines are networked and include the UniFlow application and Follow Me Print.
Users have card readers which allow them log into and print from any of the machines.
The card readers increase security as documents are only printed upon request and dramatically reduce wasted prints. Workflow is also more efficient as there is less time wasted in collecting prints from distant machines. Scan to Email/Folder options enable users to quickly save, share or file documents for secure storage and easy retrieval. For the production facility, we recommended the installation of uniform single function printers for the various work areas and one small MFD for the dispatch office.
